Integrative Medicine for Mental Health

Did you know that what you eat can play a role in your mental health? As a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) I often work with clients to incorporate nutritious foods to help aid in reduction of mental health symptoms such as anxiety and depression, as well as help limit foods that may be exacerbating symptoms. Additional integrative approaches such as herbs, supplements, & exercise can also assist in improving mental health conditions. Our body and mind are incredibly resilient and attempt to work together to create an ideal, healthy environment. When we provide our bodies with the nutrients that it needs to function optimally, we set ourselves up for good health, happiness, and longevity.

Nutritional and Integrative Medicine can help with:

  • Decreasing anxiety
  • Lifting mood
  • Improving sleep
  • Enhancing motivation
  • Decreasing fatigue
  • Improving focus and attention
  • Enhancing memory

Integrative medicine can be a helpful supplement to psychotherapy and provide additional tools to improve mental health symptoms. I value each person’s individuality and believe in balance and realistic expectations for a persons life. Thus, I approach this topic in a collaborative and curious way with clients, focusing primarily on using one’s intuition and body awareness to find alternative solutions to mental health concerns.
